Here rests
1 unknown Russ. warrior
† 1914 – 1915.
The two unknown Russian soldiers buried in the cemetery of Dziadowen/Königstal probably died during the Masurian Winter Battle in February 1915 or one of the battles between the Russian and German armies in the months before. In November 1914, the Russian army had invaded Masuria for the second time. The German victory in the Winter Battle of Masuria finally pushed it back.[1] The battle claimed many victims, two of whom were buried in Dziadowen/Königstal.
